Norwegian Lure coursing Saluki of the year 2023

Our flying Saluki, NO CH DK CH Sommarvindens Star Light, was LC Saluki of the Year 2023! To achieve this title, she needed to score at least 75% of the maximum points in all qualifying trials. She competed against other dogs based on points earned from placement and the number of dogs won over. Up to three trials counted toward the title. Nomi secured victory with an impressive 76 points, surpassing the runner-up by 16 points.

Nomi made her debut on the lure coursing field when she was less than a year old. She earned two Certificates (Cert) consecutively in Østlandet, which encouraged us to broaden our horizons. We traveled to Strømstad in Sweden and Trondheim to continue her journey.

Nomi has had an exceptional year in lure coursing. Her strong hunting instinct led her to achieve Certificates both in Norway and Sweden. In Strømstad, she competed in the CACIL class for females, and it was a special moment to see her top the results list after the first round. Our trip to Trøndelag was equally delightful, where we met many enthusiastic lure coursing enthusiasts from both Norway and Sweden.

Looking ahead, we anticipate new lure coursing adventures—perhaps in Denmark and Finland—but that’s a story for another time.
